On-site Quality Control Observations
FCG is available to perform on-site quality control observations during laboratory mock-up construction and testing, at plants where prefabrication of building enclosure components occurs, and during construction.
Laboratory Mock-up Observation
FCG can visit the laboratory where the project’s mock-up is being constructed to observe, troubleshoot, and document the work in progress for general compliance with the contract documents and recognized industry standards. Further observation and troubleshooting can be performed during the project specified testing protocols on the mock-up to verify that the design and construction of the building enclosure assemblies perform as expected.
Prefabrication Observation
Should there be concerns regarding the fabrication of the fenestration products or other prefabricated enclosure systems based on mock-up or laboratory test results, FCG is available to visit the site where the building enclosure components are being fabricated and assembled to observe quality assurance procedures and assess overall competency of the fabrication and assembly process.
Construction Observation
Construction observation generally occurs at scheduled stages of the building enclosure installation. These visits are typically scheduled with the field mock-ups, start-up of trades, complex building interfaces, field testing of mock-ups and functional performance testing of building enclosure systems.
The site visits are meant to observe and document representative areas of the work in progress. FCG can also provide assistance with detail development for items identified during construction that were not addressed during the design phase and addressing RFIs and technical issues raised by the contractors responsible for the construction and integration of the various materials, components, and systems that comprise the building enclosure.
